Mata Gujri Institute of Nursing is approved by PNRC & Indian Nursing Council and is affiliated to Baba Farid University, Punjab and is one of the leading centres for generating trained manpower in the field of nursing. A large number of students are engaged in the nursing services in the country as well as abroad. Each year we admit students on merit. The teaching programme is being conducted according to syllabus specified.

Clinical experience is a very essential component of our training programme and in establishing a sound Nurse-patient relationship.

To achieve this, students are given an exposure to work with all the modern and sophisticated units of hospital and get adequate experience in super specialties of the hospital likes CT scan department, Lithotripsy, MRI centre, Dialysis unit, Gastroenterology, In-vitro fertilisation, Cardio-thoracic/ Vascular Surgery and Cardiac Surgery, Minimal Access surgery and Organ transplantation as per the norms laid down by INC.

As a part of regular activity of the school, we have various Affiliated Hospitals, i.e. Civil Hospital Jalandhar, Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur, Bharaj Hospital Hoshiarpur, Community Health Centre Adampur, Sant Sarwan Dass Charitable Hospital Kathar, Community Health Centre Kala Bakra. The students are also given Six months Internship after completion of the course. The Institute has more then 3000 Books in the Well-Stocked Library to provide it's students with the best of the Course Knowledge.

Our training is integrated with community nursing where preventive care is emphasised, which we try to embed in our students through various community health programme. This activity of community health services and public awareness is regularly taken up by the students as part of their curriculum.

AIMS

To prepare nurses with a sound educational programme in nursing to enable them to function as member of health team, beginning with the competencies for first level positinins in all kinds of helth care settings.

To help nurses develop an ability to cooperate and coordinate with members of health team in prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick.

To help the nurses in their personal and professional development, so that they are able to make maximum contribution to the society as useful and productive individuals, citizens as well as efficient nurses.

To serve as a base for further professional education and specialization in nursing.

To prepare nurses to keep pace with latest professional and technological developments and use these for providing nursing care services.
